LAURA BLUMENTSTIEL
Laura Blumenstiel graduated from The Ohio State Moritz College of Law in 1997, and upon her graduation she proudly became the third generation of her family to graduate from OSU law school. She began her career with a large firm in northeast Ohio, where she practiced in public finance, but then returned home to Columbus in 2000 to join a family law firm and start her probate and estate planning practice. Her decades of experience in probate court have truly informed her goals in estate planning, as she has witnessed the devastation and poor outcomes in estates where there was no planning.
In estate planning, she specializes in trust based planning, using a combination of revocable and irrevocable trusts to create tailored plans to meet the goals of her clients. Whether the desire is to protect assets, protect kids or special needs adults, reduce taxes, provide for charities or simply to plan an orderly distribution of assets, Laura works closely with her clients to design a plan to meet their every need.
I strive to make a genuine connection with all of my clients, and I feel strongly that you should feel comfortable working with me.
Because her goal is peace of mind, she takes the time to thoroughly explain everything to her clients, so that they understand all the elements of their plan, and how it protects their families and assets.
She also assists clients with Medicaid planning and spend downs, as well as administering estates, where she makes every effort to make the process as easy as possible for her clients, who are dealing with very stressful circumstances. Compassion is an integral part of her relationship with her clients.
Beyond the Law
In her personal time, she is happily raising two daughters, three dogs, usually a foster dog, bees and chickens. She also loves photography, traveling, reading and working in her garden. She serves as a Board Member on the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, where she pursues her passion for improving mental health services in her community.
