PROTECT WHAT MATTERS MOST SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION

JENNIFER SHORT

I'm an Attorney here at DuPont and Blumenstiel. I strive to make something people don't like to think about (wills, trusts, and other 'end of life' documents) simple and understandable.

I've been blessed with a close family, with many siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. I have ties to the Columbus area, as well as Yellow Springs and Springfield. I've also lived in Washington D.C. and Baltimore.

I started working here in the fall of 2021. My typical workday consists of meeting with clients via Zoom, over the phone, or in person, whichever the client prefers. Together, we decide which estate documents are needed for their individual and unique situation.

Before I started working at DuPont & Blumenstiel, I worked for a large insurance company handling litigation, specifically coverage issues and compliance. Before that, I received my Bachelor's of Arts from The Ohio State University and my J.D. from the University of Baltimore.

I would describe this law firm as energetic, friendly, and growing.

There are a couple of different things that motivate me to get up and come to work. The main reason is the clients. I love to talk to them, hear their stories, figure out what they need, and make it happen. I'm also very inspired by volunteers - people who do what needs to be done for no particular gain. Volunteers are willing to take the time to help out a cause, their neighbor, or a loved one. That inspires me to do good work.

If you're hesitant to start estate planning, I would say that it's not as difficult or painful as you might think. Once you make a few decisions, everything else falls into place.
